There are rumors that the iPhone 16 Pro Max will include a larger display, larger camera sensors, and much more.
The iPhone 16 Pro Max is expected to release in the fall, and picture of Apple’s upcoming flagship device are beginning to surface through rumors and leaks. Will you upgrade, though, if the new features are attractive enough?
Thus far, there have been rumors about a bigger display, a new A18 Pro chip, and hardware upgrades such as a Capture button. There are other generative AI features that are supposed to be included with iOS 18 and some that we believe will be exclusive to the new iPhone, among many other rumors surrounding the iPhone 16 Pro Max.

iPhone 16 Pro Max A bigger display
Since the launch of the iPhone 12 Pro Max in 2020, the iPhone Pro Max series has had a 6.7-inch display. However, it appears that the iPhone 16 Pro Max will be the largest model to date. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone 16 Pro Max would have a 6.9-inch screen. It would then be considerably larger than the 6.8-inch Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.
It’s interesting to note that the standard iPhone 16 Pro is also expected to get a larger screen—from 6.1 to 6.3 inches. You can therefore choose a medium size if 6.9 inches is simply too large. The good news is that a smaller bezel is expected for the iPhone 16 Pro Max.
iPhone 16 Pro Max Longer battery life
Our testing revealed that the iPhone 15 Pro Max already had incredible battery life, lasting an incredible 14 hours and 2 minutes when using 5G to browse the web. That was with a 4,422 mAh battery; according to a Weibo report, the iPhone 16 Pro Max will have an even larger 4,676 mAh battery.
The iPhone 16 Pro Max may feature a 30 hour battery life, according to a recent leak, but we’ll have to wait and see what Apple ultimately claims before we can verify this.
iPhone 16 Pro Max camera upgrades
It appears that Apple will be upgrading the ultrawide lens for the iPhone 16 Pro series in order to make up for the tetraprism 5x optical zoom lens that was added to the iPhone 15 Pro Max. It is expected that the 48MP ultrawide camera on the Pro and Pro Max would replace the 12MP camera on earlier generations.
It is also expected that this ultrawide sensor will grow, going from a 1/3.6-inch sensor to a 1/2.6-inch sensor. Additionally, it is planned to upgrade the primary 48MP sensor from 1/1.28 inches to 1/1.4 inches. This ought should let in additional light.
According to a different source, the 48MP primary camera on the iPhone 16 Pro Max will only be based on Sony’s more recent IMX903 sensor. For improved performance, the camera will reportedly include a combination of 1 glass and 7 plastic lens elements. It would come as a surprise.
New Capture button

The button, which is supposed to be placed underneath the power button, will reportedly include a solid state capacitive design with haptic feedback. A18 Pro chip
Apple will need to speed up things with the A18 Pro if it wants the iPhone 16 Pro Max to be the fastest phone available, even if the A17 Pro processor was rather strong. A18 Pro performance in single-core testing might reach 3,570, and in multi-core testing, 9,310, if leaked Geekbench scores are any indication. Although Qualcomm isn’t standing still, that is higher than the iPhone 15 Pro Series (2,890/7,914).
